MONTVILLE, NJ - Chief Rudy Appelmann announced the arrest of James T. Kostecki, age 52, of Montville, New Jersey.

On Aug. 15, at 10:09 P.M., officers responded to a two-car accident on Main Rd./Route 202 near Rathbun Rd., according to Montville Township Police spokesman Captain Andrew Caggiano.

The investigation revealed that the driver of a Dodge Charger, Kostecki, had crossed over the double yellow lines and struck an oncoming vehicle. The officers determined that Kostecki was under the influence of alcohol and he was arrested, Caggiano said.

Kostecki was charged with DWI, failure to maintain lane, careless driving and reckless driving.

Caggiano said there were no reported injuries to any of the drivers.

A traffic complaint is merely an accusation. Despite this accusation, the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until he or she has been proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
