MONTVILLE, NJ – The Pine Brook Jewish Center, with the support of OneMontville, presents a guided tour through the minds of those who want to hurt others because of their differences.
On Sunday, May 21, at 6:30 p.m., the PBJC will present a former racist skinhead, Arno Michaelis, and a race relations expert, Daryl Davis, who broke the rules of racism.
Arno Michaelis is a founding member of the world’s largest white power skinhead organization and lead vocalist of the popular hate metal band Centurion. Michaelis once seethed with racial hostility, hell-bent on the destruction of anyone who wasn’t white. His book, My Life After Hate, vividly details how forgiveness, offered by the very people he detested, turned his life around.
Daryl Davis: an internationally known recording artist, Daryl Davis met with members of the KKK, neo-Nazis, and other white supremacist groups seeking to understand where their hate came from. His book, Klan-Destine Relationships, details his unique and successful method of defecting white supremacists by befriending them. Daryl has led entire families from hate groups and dissolved nationwide Klan chapters, all with the power of friendship.
This event is open to the public. Ticket prices: $10 in advance, $12 at the door. Please RSVP to the synagogue office at 973-244-9800 or firstname.lastname@example.org. The Pine Brook Jewish Center is located at 174 Changebridge Road, Montville, NJ, 07045.
