MONTVILLE, NJ – Montville Township Recreation Department held its annual Fishing Derby on May 6, sponsored by the Montville PBA Local 140 and the Montville Kiwanis. Families came and fished at Masar Park Pond for prizes consisting of fishing poles or gift cards. The Kiwanians served donuts and coffee while the PBA offered bagels and juice. The Montville Township Police Explorers Post 805 and the R.E.A.C.H kids were on-hand to help with snagged lines and fish measuring.

Melissa Mundjer came with her family for the second year in a row. Her husband John and her four-year-old son, Johnny, fished without success.

“My husband loves fishing so we thought we’d share his love with Johnny,” she said. “We’re hoping Johnny’s shirt will bring us luck!”
