In conjunction with their sponsorship, Atlantic Sports Health is also offering a free “Couch-to-5k” program at their 111 Madison Avenue, Morristown location. This program is aimed at helping people who have never run a 5k before train for the trot. Though two of the three sessions have already taken place, there is still time to register for the third, which will be held on November 2nd. Registration information and details can be found on the race website at morristownshipturkeytrot.org
Proceeds from the Trot are shared between the LVMC and IFP and benefit many Morris County families in need of assistance. The IFP currently serves more than 2,000 households each month, providing food, nutrition education, counseling and referral services, and the LVMC offers free one-on-one and small group tutoring in basic English and ESL to more than 500 Morris County adults.
