MONTVILLE, NJ - Montville advances to the second round of the Haas Cup Tournament after defeating 8-seeded Morris Hills, 12-2, during the first round face-off on Thursday.

With offensive contributions by all members of the Montville squad, the Mustangs got on the board early in the first period with a hat trick from sophomore Daniel Scheine and a goal from senior Captain Nick Mangano with a minute left in the period. Joe Nuzzi scored in the second period, followed by a fourth goal by Scheine and a goal a minute later by Jon Cuozzo. Montville came out even stronger in the third period, with the score already at 7-2 the Mustangs put another 5 in the back of the net with goals from Ryan Perretta, Ryan Macheska, Connor Perez, Cuozzo and Nuzzi.

In the net for Montville, Adrian Prelich had 10 saves and Matt Faulkner had 4 saves to help hold Morris Hills to only 2 goals by James Betz and Joe Rabeno.

First seeded Montville will play in the second round of the Haas Cup Tournament on Monday, Feb. 12 at 8:30 p.m. against the winner of the Mountain Lakes (5 seed), Mount Olive (4 seed) game being played on Feb. 10.
