MONTVILLE, NJ – The Pine Brook Jewish Center will be hosting two soldiers from the Israeli Defense Force for a special lecture on Sunday, Oct. 29 at 6:30 p.m. at the center.

“Israeli Soldiers Tour” is an innovative program featuring a diverse group of young reserve duty Israeli soldiers, according to a press release from PBJC. The soldiers have combat experience during missions in Gaza, Lebanon and the West Bank. They will tell their personal stories from the front lines that aren’t told in the media, the release states.

Speaker Karen was raised in New Jersey, finished high school in Israel and attends Ben Gurion University of the Negev. She is committed to teaching people about Israel and is pursuing a career in Israel advocacy.

Speaker Haitham (Tom) was raised in Bir al-Maksur, a Bedouin village in northern Israel. He was drafted into the Israeli Air Force’s Iron Dome unit. Following his discharge, he now works for a non-profit that prepares Israeli youth for their military service and guides them to be more socially involved and responsible.
