MONTVILLE, NJ – As a result of the Governor’s Executive Order #144, the primary election on Tuesday, July 7 will be conducted primarily via vote-by-mail ballot. The Board of Elections will be only operating a limited number of polling places, and ballots were automatically sent to all “active” registered Democratic and Republican voters.
Montville Township will have one polling site: the Montville Senior Center, 356 Main Rd./Route 202. Voters going to the polling site will be allowed to vote by provisional (paper) ballot only, unless they have a disability; then they may vote using the election machine. Voted mail-in ballots may not be returned to a polling place.
Montville Township has a vote-by-mail drop-off box outside the Montville Township Municipal Building, located at 195 Changebridge Rd. The ballots will be picked up on a daily basis and brought to the Board of Elections. All security measures will be followed when collecting and transporting the vote-by-mail ballots. The vote-by-mail ballot drop-off box will be closed at 8:00 pm, close of polls on Tuesday, July 7.
