MONTVILLE, NJ - For the ninth consecutive year, students from Lazar Middle School took part in the annual Montville VFW Post 5481 Flag Project.

In honor of Memorial Day, seventeen students joined advisors, Richard Crescente, Michelle Trautmann and VFW members in Montville’s historic Pinebrook and Church Lane Cemeteries. The students replaced over 150 flags on veteran graves. The flags honored veterans from many wars including the Revolutionary War, Civil War, Spanish American War, WWI, WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam War.

Following the replacement of the flags, students had lunch with veterans at the Montville VFW Post on Changebridge Road.
