MONTVILLE, NJ – Seven buses of musicians from Lazar Middle School traveled to Miller Symphony Hall in Allentown, PA on Friday, May 9.
The 235 student performers represented Lazar’s Concert Bands, Choruses and Orchestras for grade six and grades seven/eight.
The ensembles had the opportunity to perform live on the symphony’s professional stage. Each performance was adjudicated by professors from Rutgers University. All of Lazar’s ensembles received the highest ratings of either “Superior” or “Excellent.”
The musicians were led by three of Montville Township Public School’s music educators, Miguel Bolivar, Kathy Zajac and Janice Scharf.
Following the evaluation performances, the musicians enjoyed an afternoon of rides at Dorney Park.
