CEDAR KNOLLS, NJ - Boy Scouts of America, Patriots’ Path Council will be honoring local citizens at the 21st Annual Morris Lifetime Achievement Awards Dinner to be held on the evening of Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at The Park Avenue Club in Florham Park at 6:30 pm.  This year’s honorees are John Bodnar, John Bonanni, Bob Davidson, Joe Marts, and Sheriff Edward Rochford.

John Bodnar is the founder, president, and CEO of Bodnar Financial Advisors, Inc. He has been Chairman of the Board of the Morris County Unit of the American Cancer Society, President and Treasurer of both the NJ Chapter of US Lacrosse and Madison Junior Lacrosse Club, Board Member of the Rahway State Prison Lifers Advisory Board, President of the Clark Kiwanis Club, Municipal Councilman of Clark, NJ, and Member of the Trust for Historic Preservation.

John Bonanni is the Morris County Administrator and has served the county in the position for the past 12 years. As County Administrator he is directly responsible for operations and management of the 6 major county departments, as well as the development and management of the county’s annual $329 million budget.  Mr. Bonanni also oversees the Departments of Planning and Public Works, Human Services, Law and Public Safety, Finance, Employee Resources, and the Morris County Correctional Facility.

Bob Davidson began his adult Scouting career as a Cub Scout den leader in 2000, serving until 2005 when his son and other members of the den joined Montville’s Boy Scout Troop 74.  Bob was an assistant Scoutmaster for three years, then Scoutmaster for three years.   In 2010 he added the position of Advisor to Venturing Crew 74, and led the crew until the end of 2015, and is now the crew committee chair. Bob served on the Patriots’ Path Council committees for the 2010 and 2013 National Scout Jamborees.  He attended those jamborees as an assistant Scoutmaster in 2010 and Venturing crew Advisor in 2013, and currently serves on the committee for the 2017 National Jamboree.   Bob is currently the Fishawack district chairman and member of the council executive board.  From January, 2014 until November 2015, he was chairman of the Patriots’ Path Council 2015 Liberty Jamboree.

Joe Marts is former Mayor (1976-79) and former council member (2008-10) of Chatham Borough. As a full-time realtor, he has been a member of North Central Jersey Association of Realtors. He served as Deputy Sheriff of Morris County for eight years. After 9/11, he was appointed to the Morris County Prosecutors Counter Terrorism Task Force. He has served his home town of Chatham Borough for 18 years as a special police officer. He has also been a member of the Chatham Borough Fire Department since August of 1960 and has served as lieutenant and captain during this time, and remains active. He is a past Realtor of the Year from the Morris County Board of Realtors, a past president of the Board, and a past State Director of the New Jersey Association of Realtors. He has been a member of the 200 club for over 20 years and has served as past co-chair of the scholarship committee for two years.

Sheriff Edward V. Rochford celebrates his 50th year serving Morris County in a law enforcement capacity, and he makes history. No man or woman before him is on record for having served this county in this capacity. Sheriff Rochford knew at the tender age of six that he wanted to be a police officer; to serve and protect the public.  He fulfilled that dream in 1965, the day he was sworn-in in his hometown with the Morris Township Police Department.  He served a 27 year career there, finishing up as Deputy Chief.  He was then encouraged to run for Sheriff of Morris County which he viewed as an opportunity to continue to serve and protect the only county he has ever lived in and thus he set his sights on the position of the "Chief Peacekeeper of the County"; the Sheriff, where he remains today, in his 23rd year of service.

Morris County is a part of the Patriots’ Path Council, Boy Scouts of America which serves over 16,000 youth in over 400 Scouting units in communities throughout Morris, Middlesex, Somerset, Sussex, and Union Counties.

For more information on Scouting, attending the event, and sponsoring an ad in the program journal, contact Jennifer Volz, Sr. Development Director, at 973-765-9322 ext. 249 and/or jennifer.volz@scouting.org.
