MONTVILLE, NJ – Montville Township residents like to rock, if the turnout for the Recreation Department’s concert series July 26 event is any indicator. “Midnight Blue” took the stage at the community park amphitheater, with an eclectic mix of rock, blues-rock and classics.
Songs included “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg,” “Take Me to the River,” and “Chain of Fools.”
The Pretenders’ “Back on the Chain Gang” added to mix.
The group bid farewell to two artists who passed away this year, including Glen Frey of the Eagles, by playing that band’s hits “Witchy Woman” and “Already Gone.” They played an early song of Prince’s called “When You Were Mine.”
Despite the heat, many residents enjoyed the mix of songs.
Montville resident Terry Cavanaugh said, “I wanted to come out on a nice summer night and hear some great music.”
