MORRISTOWN, NJ - The Mayo Performing Arts Center Art Upstairs Gallery is pleased to present the work of art inspired by firemen who lost their lives on September 11.  The tribute, entitled "From the Ashes", was created by Montville dentist Stanley Yeager.

"From the Ashes" depicts a condition that was seen on the faces of all the fireman leaving the destroyed World Trade Center on 9/11.  With his art, Yeager was able to express his interpretation of the sadness and loss that was felt that day. His work honors the fallen heroes.

Professionally, Yeager has been in the dental field for over 42 years. However, from a young age he enjoyed drawing and building model airplanes and as an adult he developed a love of antiques and fine art. It wasn't until 1995 that his creativity expanded with the purchase of his first case of Chavant Clay.

Stan's artistic philosophy states in part: "The university of the human condition and the beauty and grace of the human form transcends time and cultural boundaries.  There is a unifying element that elicits a common response in the viewer.  There is a common thread that binds us, humanity, together.  We respond to the subtle nuances of body posture and facial expression.  My work addresses his timelessness"

The sculpture will be on display through mid-September at Art Upstairs Gallery.
