MONTVILLE, NJ - After back-to-back difficult losses to open the year, the Montville field hockey team pulled off a stunning upset of ranked West Morris with a 4-2 victory on Monday at Montville Township High School.

West Morris came into the game unbeaten and unscored upon in its first two games, and was ranked No. 15 in NJ.com's Top 20. But Montville broke through early and often, as it built a 3-0 lead going into halftime and held on in the second half.

Natalie Rossinow scored twice and had an assist, while Gina Marotta also added two goals for Montville. Charlotte Weinstein made eight saves to secure the victory.

Montville will look to even up its record at 2-2 when it travels to face Morristown on Wednesday at 4 p.m. Then, it will close out the week with a road contest at Parsippany Hills on Saturday morning at 10 a.m.
