MONTVILLE, NJ – The Kiwanis Club of Montville recently celebrated their outgoing and incoming officers at their 39th annual installation dinner at Rails Steak House in Towaco.

The program recognized the accomplishments of the club during the 2015-2017 period, under President Doug Cooper. Most noteworthy were a successful lasagna dinner fundraiser, and continuation of the town-wide “Adopt-A-Hydrant” program. Newly installed President Michael D. Johnson was joined by a host of new and old faces alike in forming the leadership team for the 2017-2018 year. Deane Driscoll, Thomas Mazzaccaro, Sr., and Robert Gannon returned to the club’s Board of Directors, and were joined by newly installed directors, Gerald Hug and Joseph O’Dowd.

Deane Driscoll was honored with the “Kiwanian of the Year” award for his many contributions and tireless efforts throughout the past year.

Samantha Boos, who was sworn in as secretary, and Kiwanis member Ryan Massenzio served as Masters of Ceremony. Lt. Governor Gordon echoed the club’s excitement to see new and younger faces joining the membership; though recruitment efforts still remain a top priority for the club.

Montville Kiwanis will have a presence at Montville Township’s 150th celebration at Montville Day on Oct. 15, and at the Community Expo on Oct. 18. Regular meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month at the Montville Township Senior House. New members are welcome!
