MONTVILLE, NJ - Almost ten years ago the Montville Educational Foundation (MEF), which provides Montville's teachers and students with grants for special programs, gave the School of Rock the startup money it needed.
"It was a big risk" said School of Rock founder Anthony Sia. "But the MEF was willing to take a chance on us."
The grant made it possible for the School of Rock to develop talented musicians, deliver 11 years of amazing concerts, and help a number worthy causes. This year, the group will host its "Spring for a Cause" concert with 100% percent of the proceeds going to the Montville Educational Foundation.
"We hope the MEF can use the money to help other projects" said co-president Sruthi Gudimella. "They're a great organization and I know my high school experience wouldn't be the same without them."
The concert is a family friendly event. Tickets are only ten dollars for adults and five for students. Aind, the price of each ticket includes refreshments. The show is scheduled to begin at 7:30 PM on Friday, April 21 in the Robert O. Stafford auditorium at Montville Township High School. All are welcomed and encouraged to attend.
