MONTVILLE, NJ – Montville Township High School’s parent teacher organization is called the PTC, which stands for Parent Teacher Council. Our Parent Teacher Council brings community, parents and administrators together for the purpose of providing students with a better educational experience. They accomplish this through a number of activities, many of which are fundraisers. For example, the PTC sponsors the ACT and SAT classes through two local businesses and awards five scholarships to graduating seniors every year. The PTC’s “Gifts to School” program is vital for educational programs which fall outside of the school district’s budget. One such program is the Montville School of Rock.
Recently the PTC gave a new mixing board to the School of Rock.
“Our old mixer was more than ten years old. We were constantly taking it to be repaired,” said Johnny Mattaliano, the group’s sound engineer. “We desperately needed a new one, and our new X32 is amazing!”
“Our sound is all about clarity, balance and special effects,” said Abigail Garcia, the band’s lead singer. “I’m not sure we’d be able to perform this year were it not for the PTC’s generosity.”
The band’s next performance is on Thursday, March 15, and will include dinner donated by Tuscany Villa. All of the concert proceeds will go directly to the PTC so that the organization can continue to help students and teachers benefit from new learning experiences. The entire community is invited to come out and see the band at this family-friendly event.
Doors open at the high school at 7 p.m. Students are free and adults are $10. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m.
Montville Township High School is located at 100 Horseneck Road in Montville.
