MONTVILLE, NJ -- The Montville Township Police Explorers Post 805 will sponsor a tricky tray fundraiser on Thursday, April 7, at Hanover Manor in East Hanover.
The Post, which is a non-profit youth group, has existed for more than 30 years, and is for students aged 14 to 21 who are interested in law enforcement.
Explorers attend meetings throughout the school year to learn enforcement techniques, but the Post also provides community service within the township by performing such services as aiding with the township’s paper shredding events, parking cars at the Montville Fourth of July celebration and conducting a food drive for the Kiwanis Food Pantry.
"The Explorers raise funds that allow them to participate in the National Police Exploring Conference, the training academy, and camping trips, to name just a few," said Post Advisor Patrolman Dominick Danzi. "This supports the primary goals of the Police Explorer program: helping young adults choose a career path within law enforcement and to challenge them to become responsible citizens of their communities and the nation."
Tickets cost $55, which includes dinner and two sheets of tickets.
