MONTVILLE, NJ -- The Montville Township Recreation Department will be sponsoring a Forensics Intro - Competitive Speech and Debate Program for students in Grades 6th-8th, Beginner and Advanced Levels.
This program will focus on the techniques of effective public speaking in the areas of oral interpretation, oratorical, interpretation, extemporaneous and impromptu speaking, as well as public forum debate.
Classes are held on Tuesdays: March 14, 21, 28, April 4, 18, 25, May 2 & 9 (No class on 4/11) from 3:45 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.
Classes take place at the Montville Township High School Media Room and classroom #301 located at 100 Horseneck Road in Montville.
Instruction is provided by Mary Gormley, Montville Township High School’s Forensics Coach for 28 years, coaching students in local, state and national competition in the areas of speech and debate. Students from the award-winning team will be acting as seminar interns.
The cost is $135 per person for the eight-week session.
