Montville Twp Recreation Announces Summer Concert Series

MONTVILLE, NJ – If you’re looking for some fun musical entertainment on Tuesday nights this summer, come to the Community Park Amphitheater behind the library for Montville Township Recreation Department’s Concerts In The Park 2017, co-sponsored by Lincoln 1st Bank.

These free concerts will feature music for all ages and interests throughout the summer. Please note the variations in rain date situations.

July 11 marks the first concert: The Kootz. They feature classic rock, pop, soul and blues.

If it rains, the concert will be held in the Senior House, 356 Main Road/Route 202.

On July 18, Montville area locals will be playing in the Jacksonville Chapel Concert Band. Their repertoire will feature “summer favorites from here, there and everywhere.” Once again, if it rains, the concert will be held in the Senior House, 356 Main Road/Route 202.

Midnight Blue will be playing July 25, featuring an eclectic mix of rock, blues-rock and classics.

If it rains, the concert will be held on Thursday, July 27.

“Chicago”-style blues band “Degrees Below Zero” will play Montville on August 1. They boast an eight-piece band with three horns. If it rains, the concert will be held on Thursday, August 3.

On August 8, the Mighty Spectrum Band will be playing the amphitheater. This band will be playing hits from Chicago, The Doors, Bruce Springsteen, The J. Geils Band, Elvis Presley, Van Morrison, and countless others. If it rains, the concert will be held on Thursday, August 10.

If popular easy listening tunes are your thing, then come out on August 15 for The JM Band.

If it rains, the concert will be held on Thursday, August 17.

But if you live to rock, come on out on August 22 for Arena, when they play “some of the greatest rock bands of all time.” If it rains, the concert will be held on Thursday, August 24.

Montville Township Recreation urges you to bring lawn chairs and/or blankets for comfortable seating. The park area has been sprayed for mosquitoes, but come prepared! Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on township property.

The amphitheater can be accessed by parking at the library or the back of the high school.
