WHIPPANY, NJ - New Jersey State Treasurer Ford Scudder will speak at a breakfast meeting being hosted by the Morris County Chamber of Commerce Wednesday, November 16, at the Birchwood Manor in Whippany.
Scudder will review the 2017 fiscal budget for the state as well as New Jersey's fiscal outlook and continuing work to make state government more responsive to free enterprise.
Scudder was sworn in a treasurer September 20 after serving as acting treasurer since November 9, 2015.
“The recent agreement to increase the gas tax, phase out the estate tax and provide additional tax relief to retirees will have a significant impact on the health of the state budget and the economy in the years ahead,” said Paul Boudreau, president of the Chamber. “The business community here in Morris County is anxious to hear what Treasurer Scudder has to say about how these changes will make our state more competitive.”
