MORRISTOWN, NJ - Police are asking for the public's help in solving a Wednesday night "shooting incident" on Jersey Avenue in Morris Township.
They said the incident took place at 11:56 p.m. Witnesses said they heard gunfire. Police went to the scene and recovered evidence, they said.
At this time, authorities do not know if anyone was injured or the motive of the shooting. Morris Township Police Chief Mark DiCarlo said no victims were found at the site and he noted police believe it was an isolated incident and that there is no danger to the public.
Police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying the individuals involved. According to the witness statement, the people might be Hispanic or African American. A Ford Crown Victoria was seen leaving the scene, said authorities.
