WAYNE, NJ – The Heart 'n Hands Mission will hold its annual Presidents’ Day of Service on Monday, Feb. 19 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Wayne. Please join us for an hour or two of sorting and preparing clothing for our monthly distributions.
Heart ‘n Hands Mission now reaches over 2,000 individuals and family members each month, bringing clothing and personal care items to the homeless and working poor in Paterson, Passaic and Hoboken and to Supportive Services for Veterans Families.
Our friends in need appreciate the gently used, clean, good quality clothing that you provide.
The following items are urgently needed for our homeless friends:
- warm winter gloves
- new travel size deodorant
- new adult white crew socks
- new men’s and women’s underwear or boxers
- new or gently used backpacks
- new or gently worn jeans in all sizes for men and women
Men’s casual clothing, work boots and hiking boots are always needed.
You may wish to bring a bag lunch on the 19th. Light refreshments will be available. The mission is located at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 395 Valley Road, Wayne.
On most Monday mornings between 9:30 – 11:30 a.m., donations can be brought to the mission. The church office is usually open from 9 am – noon, Monday through Friday. Please call the church office at 973-694-8316 to be sure someone is there is receive your donations. Donations cannot be left outside when the church is closed. If you need to arrange another time to drop off your donations, please call the church office and leave a message in mailbox #6. A mission volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible.
