MONTVILLE, NJ - According to unofficial results, with approximately 28% voter turnout, Richard Cook and incumbent Richard Conklin won the primary election to represent the Republican party in November's general election for the two open seats on the Montville Township Committee.
The Morris County Clerk's office reported that Cook received 1,771 votes and Conklin received 1,766.
The unofficial results for the 2016 Primary Election in Morris County with an overall voter turnout of 29.11% were:
HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES 11TH CONGRESSSIONAL DISTRICT
Rodney Frelinghuysen beat out Rick Van Glahn with nearly 75% of the votes for the House of Representatives 11th Congressional District.
MORRIS COUNTY SHERIFF
With 64.6% of the votes, James Gannon prevailed over John Sierchio for the position of Morris County Sheriff.
BOARD OF CHOSEN FREEHOLDERS
Doug Cabana, Tom Mastrangelo and Kathy DeFillippo each received approximately 20% of the votes which put them ahead of John Krickus (14%), Peter King (10%), Louis Valori (9%) and Roman Hirniak (7%) for the three open seats for the Morris County Board of Chosen Freeholders.
In a statement sent out by Team Morris 2016 (Cabana, Mastrangelo and DeFillippo), the candidates said, "We believe Morris County is a great place to live, work and play in. We are proud of our record of producing a sensible budget, keeping taxes down, getting more roads paved and reducing debt. We will continue to keep our message out there and work hard for the residents of Morris County. We look forward to our victory in November."
