MONTVILLE, NJ – The Society for the Prevention of Teen Suicide, Help Educate at Risk Teens and the Rotary Club of Montville invite parents to a presentation on “Raising Resilient Teens in Challenging Times,” to be presented at the Montville Township Senior House on Wednesday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m.
This parent presentation focuses on building strength and resilience in our children and teens with emphasis on how to talk to your teens about difficult topics, empowering parents and guardians through education and awareness, understanding warning signs and risk factors, cultivation protective factors, data and statistics, and local resources.
Presenter Phyllis Alongi, MS, NCC, LPC, ACS, is Clinical Director of the Society for the Prevention of Teen Suicide and a Licensed Professional Counselor. She obtained her Master’s Degree from Monmouth University in Professional Counseling, and has numerous years’ experience in education and clinical practice with children and adolescents. Phyllis conducts suicide prevention and risk assessment training to schools, agencies and community organizations across the nation.
