PARSIPPANY, NJ - Hundreds of people spent last Tuesday evening at the Birchwood Manor to support Morris County Sheriff Jim Gannon at his second annual St. Patrick's Day/St. Joseph's Day event.

There were bagpipes, Irish dancers, balloons and both Irish and Italian food.  Many of the county's finest were in attendance in both ceremony and participation.

Many elected officials were in attendance and stood when Marine Sargent Major Pete Haas was honored.

"It's such a happy night and fun event.  It's great to see so many people come together to celebrate a great Sheriff", said Stan Gorski one of the many attendees.

Since his swearing in back in January of 2017, Sheriff Gannon has made fighting the Opioid epidemic one of his top priorities. Originally using drug forfeiture money, Gannon converted a former S.W.A.T van and turned into the now infamous Hope One.  Since then Hope One has been traveling the county distributing literature and arranging for the treatment and training of people in the life saving use of Nalozone, an opioid overdose antidote.
