MONTVILLE, NJ - Montville Township Police Chief Rudy Appelmann said the police department received a call of a shoplifter at the Burlington Coat Factory at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 29.

According to Appelmann, the security officer directed Ptl. Jeannette and Ptl. Casillo to a man, later identified as Anthony Ivens. The investigation revealed that Ivens was in possession of a small speaker and a hat which had been taken from Burlington Coat Factory. He was also in possession of heroin, several syringes and brass knuckles.  

Ivens, age 25, of Ventor City, NJ was arrested and charged with possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of syringes, unlawful possession of a weapon and shoplifting, Appelmann reported. Ivens was taken to the Morris County Jail pending court.
