TAPinto Franchised Local News Network Breaks 7M Readers, 23.7M Pageviews

NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - TAPinto.net, a network of more than 70 online hyperlocal news sites in New Jersey and New York, broke 7 million readers and 23.7 million pageviews during the last year. 

From Jan. 8, 2017 to Jan. 7, 2018, TAPinto registered 7,025,372 readers and 23,792,903 pageviews, up from 5,352,395 readers and 18,496,885 pageviews during the same period a year ago.  During the same period, TAPinto grew from 54 sites to 71, 66 of which are currently franchised to local owner/publishers.

"At a time when many news organizations have reduced or eliminated their local news coverage, TAPinto is providing original local news coverage on a daily basis in our communities. While other publications are engaging in clickbait and content aggregation in a quest for pageviews, we are providing a sustainable path forward, demonstrating that you can generate large traffic numbers without sensationalizing the news or becoming the neighborhood gossip page," said Chief Executive Officer and Publisher Michael Shapiro.

TAPinto provides the backend training and support to its franchisees. Current franchisees include business development executives, marketing and communications professionals, hardcopy newspaper publishers, public relations firms, veteran journalists, attorneys, financial advisors, realtors, the Plainfield YMCA, and St. Bonaventure University.
