MONTVILLE, NJ – Two car thefts in the township have the Montville Township Police Department asking residents – once again – to please lock their cars and remove all keys and key fobs from their vehicles.

Police Chief Andrew Caggiano said that on Tuesday, May 26 between 1 and 7 a.m., a 2018 Jeep Compass was stolen from a resident’s driveway on Konner Avenue. The vehicle has not been recovered to date, he said.

A 2018 Jaguar was stolen from a resident’s driveway on Cable Court between 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20 and 1:30 p.m. on May 26. It was later recovered in Newark, NJ.

The vehicles had keys in them at the time of the theft.

“We are asking residents to please be sure that your vehicles are locked and that all keys and key fobs are removed from your vehicle,” Caggiano said.
