MONTVILLE, NJ - Mayor Scott Gallopo and the Montville Township Committee have invited Karen Gentile, Community Assistance & Technical Services (CATS) Manager for the United States Department of Transportation, Pipeline & Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), to speak to the public on Wednesday, Feb. 18, at 7 p.m.
The location of Gentile’s presentation will be the Montville Township Town Hall located at 195 Changebridge Road in Montville.
Gentile’s presentation is in response to questions raised by the public on pipelines and pipeline safety prompted by the proposed Pilgrim Pipeline Holdings, LLC project to construct a pipeline to carry refined petroleum products and crude oil across northern New Jersey, connecting Albany, New York and Linden, New Jersey. So that the public better understands pipelines and pipeline safety in general terms, Gentile will highlight the following items during her presentation to the public:
- Overview of Energy Pipelines
- Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) Roles and Responsibilities
- Pipeline Safety Regulations
- State Involvement
- Keeping Pipelines Safe
- Pipeline Planning and Construction
- Available Resources and Links
All Township residents are encouraged to attend this very informative session.
