MONTVILLE, NJ – The Morris County Mosquito Commission has announced it will be treating the Passaic River and Whippany River Floodplains via helicopter on Wednesday, May 22 from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The Passaic River runs along Hook Mountain and Pine Brook Roads in Montville and Towaco.
In addition, the commission will be treating the following locations via truck-mounted sprayers on Friday, May 24 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. across all areas of the township.
The roads where spraying will occur include:
Chapin Road, Bloomfield Avenue, Prospect Place, Ada Mary Place, Maple Avenue, Margaret Drive, John Street, Cindy Road, Karen Road, New Maple Avenue, Maple Avenue, Roe-Ri Road, Marts Lane, Tamarack Lane, Spruce Lane, Effingham-Low Court, Hook Mountain Road, Pine Brook Road, Cole Avenue, Clay Drive, Weldon Place, Nicholas Street, Willard Lane, Longview Drive, Beverly Drive, Midvale Avenue and Peace Valley Road.
The commission will be using fyfanon, the active ingredient of which is malathion.
