MONTVILLE, NJ - As part of their Girl Scout Journey, William Mason's 2nd grade Brownie Troop #5019 held a donation drive for the Montville Animal Shelter in May.
Earlier this year, the Troop voted on the local organization they would like to support in an effort to improve their world while on the quest to earn their Take Action Key badge. The Troop overwhelming choose the Montville Animal Shelter as the benefactor of their Take Action Project.
The Troop created a donation box to collect the items for the animal shelter. After just a couple of weeks, the families of William Mason gave generously and the donation box was full. It was time to visit the animal shelter and make their donation as a group.
"The girls were very excited to deliver these much needed items to the shelter," Troop Leader Sue Eagan said. "They are also looking forward to visiting with the animals at the shelter."
The Montville Animal Shelter is always in need of many items, such as cat litter, kitten chow, paper towels, laundry detergent and fabric softer dryer sheets, which can be donated to their facility located at 7 Church Road in Montville.
