MONTVILLE, NJ – Fujitsu General America, Inc. has signed a lease to relocate from Fairfield to the former Bayer property at 340 Changebridge Road in Montville, Cushman & Wakefield real estate company announced. The cooling and heating solutions company will occupy 32,000 square feet of one of the two buildings there with their U.S. headquarters.
According to Ben Brenner of C&W, the relocation from Fairfield marks a notable “flight to quality” move for the organization. He said the new headquarters offers “a completely modern, Class A environment,” and that the warehouse operations for the company will move to Piscataway. He also said that the property, owned by Real Capital Solutions, has been “recently repositioned” in the market. It comprises a total of 100,000 square feet, according to a release from the company.
The property is at the corner of Woodmont Road and Changebridge, and Fujitsu will move into the front building of the two buildings on the property. The township has voted to rezone the building in the back for redevelopment in order to meet its affordable housing requirements.
Fujitsu General has partnered with Studio Eagle as architect and general contractor for renovations. The firm anticipates Fujitsu will occupy the space in early 2020.
“We look forward to our upcoming move and all the benefits it will bring for our team and our organization,” said Matt Peterson, president of Fujitsu General America.
