MONTVILLE, NJ – Montville Township officials have signed an order effective April 7 stopping new guests or seasonal tenants at hotels, motels, guest houses or private residents in order to try to stop the spread of the Coronavirus.

The order does not apply to healthcare workers sheltered in order to help out at area hospitals, those who are housed “as part of a state-directed non-congregate shelter initiative,” or those who are in federal, state or local emergency temporary housing.

The order states it is in order to avoid unnecessary increases in density of individuals, households or hotels, and it will remain in effect as long as social distancing constraints are in place.
