MONTVILLE, NJ – The veterans of Montville Township VFW Post 5481 wanted to ask residents to fly the flag to show unity in the face of uncertain and frightening times, Post Commander Ken Hanzl said.

The post's 87 members, who are still mourning the recent loss of one of their comrades to the COVID-19 virus, will be flying the American flag to show support for one another during the Coronavirus pandemic, according to Hanzl.

“We applaud those who already display our flag daily but for other residents, please join in this effort,” Hanzl urged. “Displaying our flag can show our unity as a community, and if we can have all residents display the flag, it will show that even our neighborhoods are unified as our country battles in the war against this horrible disease.”
