MONTVILLE, NJ – Team “Tigger” was the winner of the Montville Township High School Key Club’s annual volleyball marathon fundraiser Feb. 21, helping the club to earn more than $2,500 for area charities.
Juniors John Cecco, Nicholas Cecco, Declan Dougherty, Daniel Fariello, Anthony Ferrare, Blaine Franc and Alexander Simon wore orange shirts and came in first place in the elimination games that lasted five minutes each with 36 other teams competing. This year’s Disney theme saw the students at the school wearing Hercules togas, Incredibles t-shirts and Minnie Mouse-ear headbands as they played volleyball in the school’s two gyms, then enjoyed a buffet dinner donated by area businesses.
Parent organization Montville Township Kiwanis financially supported the event, making personal and club donations towards t-shirts and food, and members volunteering as servers for the buffet.
Sally Vreeland Novak Owner/Sales Associate RE/MAX Neighborhood Properties was also a sponsor.
“The Montville Key Club would like to thank all the volunteers who helped contribute to another successful volleyball marathon,” Key Club president Francisco Axel Vazquez told TAPinto Montville. “The proceeds will go to the Community FoodBank of New Jersey (including the Montville Kiwanis Food Pantry), Adrenal Cortical Carcinoma Crusade until a Resolution Exits and the Spina Bifida Resource Network.”
