MONTVILLE, NJ – Twenty organizations and 218 people participated in the April and May townwide cleanup sponsored by the Montville Township Recreation Department.
The Rec Department provided a quick breakfast if groups scheduled their cleanup for April 29, but many groups held their cleanup on a date that was convenient for them. Cleanups occurred at the exit from Route 80 on Hook Mountain Road, at the Community Park, along Taylortown, River, Canal, Changebridge and Valhalla Roads, at the Towaco train station, at the schools, and at Camp Dawson, to name just a few of the areas.
Recreation Director Lori Dent said she was very thankful to all of the groups that helped out, plus the families and individuals who participated. They included:
Boy Scout Pack 179, Brownie Troop 96547, Cub Scout Pack 68, Girl Scout Troop 4395, Girl Scout Troop 4916, Girls Scout Troop 4967, Girl Scout Troop 5143, Montville Garden Club, Montville Historical Society, Montville Kiwanis Club, Montville Police Explorers Post 805, Montville Reformed Church, Montville Rotary and Interact Club, Montville Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, Montville Women’s Club, St. Pius X Knights of Columbus, Towaco Civic Association, Tzu Chi Foundation, Valhalla Civic Association and VFW Post 5481.
