Over the past couple weeks, the COVID-19 outbreak has turned life upside down for many people and businesses in the country and our area specifically. Over that time, several recommendations and regulations have been released to help "flatten the curve" and limit the spread of the virus and subsequent burden on our healthcare system. In addition to restrictions placed on individuals, many businesses have seen their operational capacity limited by these orders. The dental field has been no different.

Although we provide essential health services, due to the close personal contact nature of our work, we have been instructed to postpone all routine, non-emergency treatments for the time being. By doing so, the goal is to decrease transmission of this virus, especially by way of asymptomatic people. That said, we understand that we do have an obligation to serve our patients and community, and we want to prevent dental emergencies from ending up in already inundated hospital emergency rooms, where there is often very limited capacity to deal with these issues. As such, we will be treating patients on an emergency only basis for the time being. Though there is no firm guideline on what constitutes a true dental emergency at this time, we intend to treat in the office only conditions that we determine cannot be maintained stable by prescription medications for a period of 30 days. We encourage patients who are experiencing any dental issue and are unsure if it constitutes a true dental emergency to contact our office so that we may assist you, whether remotely or in person if need be.

Krause Comprehensive Dental Care is located at 150 River Road Suite J-2 in Montville and can be reached at (973) 334-5556. We will be available for virtual screening for any issues that cannot be resolved over the phone. We wish everyone continued health and safety during this stressful time.
