Chilton Medical Center, part of Atlantic Health System, in partnership with Morris County Office of Emergency Management and the Morris County Office of Health Management, has announced that they have launched a self-contained, patient triage and assessment system that is adjacent to the Emergency Department on 97 West Parkway.
As COVID-19 began to emerge overseas, Chilton Medical Center’s care teams as well as all Atlantic Health System sites, immediately set about ensuring that every facility was prepared – readying negative pressure isolation rooms, taking stock of personal protective equipment and reviewing all training and protocols related to treating severe respiratory illnesses and other infectious diseases.
“Chilton Medical Center’s top priority is the safety of our patients, communities and health care professionals,” said Stephanie Schwartz, President, Chilton Medical Center. “This extension of our Emergency Department is well-equipped to take all the necessary precautions to best serve our patients and clinical teams during these challenging times.”
The 43-by-19-foot tent structure has dedicated space for patient evaluations and treatment by qualified medical professionals.
