MONTVILLE, NJ - A motor vehicle stop in Pine Brook resulted in the arrest of a Pennsylvania woman for possession of heroin and related paraphernalia, according to Montville Township Police Chief Rudy Appelmann.
Appelmann said that 26-year-old Hillary Kathryn James of Brodheadsville, PA was arrested on July 5 at around 11:15 p.m. after a motor vehicle stop on Hook Mountain Road. Montville Township police officers LoGrasso and Yang discovered the passenger of the vehicle, James, was in possession of heroin and related paraphernalia.
The officers recovered over 350 bags of heroin, Appelmann said, and James was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of syringes. James was transported to the Morris County Jail pending court hearing, Appelmann said.
A criminal complaint is merely an accusation. Despite this accusation, the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until he or she has been proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
