MONTVILLE, NJ – A two-car collision left a car overturned on Route 287 north in Montville Saturday evening.
The Montville Township Police, Volunteer Fire Departments, and First Aid Squad responded with state troopers around 6:15 p.m. on July 27 to two cars that collided at mile marker 48 just north of the Montville entrance to 287 northbound.
A BMW and a Chevrolet SUV collided, according to state police, leaving the BMW on its side.
Montville police and first aid helped occupants from their cars, according to a spokesperson from the Montville Fire Department. Montville Fire stood by to assist in case of fire, the spokesperson said.
No serious injuries occurred, but the four occupants were transported to local hospitals, according to state police.
Two lanes of the highway were closed for about an hour.
The vehicles were registered in Massachusetts and Pennsylvania; state police did not release identities of the occupants. The cause of the crash is being investigated, state police indicated.
