MONTVILLE, NJ - The Montville Township Police responded to a residence on Kanouse Lane to investigate a burglary on Tuesday, Nov. 28, according to Captain Andrew Caggiano.

Caggiano said the burglary occurred between  9 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Nov. 28 when the suspect(s) entered into the residence by forcing open a door on the first floor and going through a bedroom while the homeowners were not at home.

"We will be increasing police patrols in those areas," Caggiano said. "If residents see unfamiliar vehicles or suspicious activity in their neighborhoods we encourage them to report it so it can be investigated. We would rather go out and talk to someone who belongs in the neighborhood than miss the person who doesn't. Also, residents should be mindful of changing lights on timers as it gets darker earlier in the winter months."

The Montville Twp. Police Department is asking if anyone has information regarding this crime please contact the police department’s Detective Bureau at 973-257-4300.
