MONTVILLE, NJ – Two Montville men were arrested on Sept. 3 in the aftermath of a traffic stop; one fled and tried to hide behind a fence at a residence on Waxberg Lane as reported by TAPinto Montville.
Patrolman Robert Jeannette conducted a motor vehicle stop in the parking lot of the Montville Diner in Pine Brook on Tuesday around 4:30 p.m. when passenger Adam J. Magsamen, age 20, of Towaco, fled and was later apprehended in the area of Waxberg Lane, according to Montville Township Police Chief Andrew Caggiano.
The Montville Township Police Department was assisted by the Parsippany Police Department and the K9 unit of the Morris County Sheriff’s Office in his apprehension and the arrest, Caggiano said.
Driver Evan L. Thailer, age 19, of Pine Brook was arrested and charged with the following: one count of possession of false identification and obstruction. He was issued motor vehicle summons for failure to maintain lanes, delaying traffic and improper parking. Thailer was issued the summons and released.
Magsamen was arrested and charged with one count of possession of marijuana, eluding, obstruction, and failure to turn over a controlled dangerous substance to a law enforcement officer. Magsamen was issued a summons and released.
A criminal complaint is merely an accusation. Despite this accusation, the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until he or she has been proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
