MONTVILLE, NJ - Colin Hennigan scored both of his team's goals to lift the second-seeded Montville boys soccer team to a 2-0 win over seventh-seeded Dover in the quarterfinals of the Morris County Tournament at Montville Township High School on Sunday.
The win propelled Montville to next Sunday's MCT semifinals, where it will face 11th-seed Mount Olive at Parsippany Hills High School.
The Mustangs struck early on in the game, as Giovanni LoGrasso found Hennigan for a header which found the back of the net, giving the team the early advantage. It never looked back, as Hennigan scored yet again in the 67th minute for a key insurance goal.
Max Metz made seven saves to earn the shutout- which was Montville's ninth of the season.
Montville improved its record to a perfect 12-0 with the victory. Before next Sunday's semifinals, it will first take on Morris Knolls on Tuesday, before traveling to Sparta on Thursday.
