MONTVILLE, NJ - The Montville boys soccer team continued its perfect start to the season on Tuesday afternoon, as it broke a scoreless tie late in the second half en route to a 2-0 win over Roxbury at Montville Township High School.
Brett Freeman scored the tie-breaking goal with over 11 minutes left in regulation, which proved to be the game-winner. Andrew Gordon added an insurance tally with 3:30 remaining in the game.
The win improved Montville to a perfect 8-0 on the season. It has outscored its opponents 30-2, and has not surrendered a goal in its last three games.
It will put its undefeated record on the line again on Thursday, when it hosts West Morris at 4 p.m. It will then take on Morris Tech on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the first round of the Morris County Tournament.
