MONTVILLE, NJ - The Montville wrestling team took its first step towards back-to-back sectional titles, as the top seed Mustangs rolled to a 69-3 win over eighth seed Teaneck in the first round of the NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 1, Group 3 tournament at Montville Township High School on Monday night.

Thomas LaScala (160), Noah Fox (170), Michael Conrad (182), and Zach Stolz-Ilge (195) each earned pins for the Mustangs. Brandon Teresa (152) won via 19-3 technical fall in 3:01. Brian Glasser (132) won via 10-2 major decision over Teaneck's Miguel Marroquin, while Karl Monaco (120) and Daniel Salzano (145) earned decisions.

Teaneck forfeited to Montville at 113, 126, 138, 220, and 106. Montville won all bouts except one, where Mohammed Gaber (285) lost to Teaneck's Danny Paulino by a 6-3 decision.

Montville advances to Wednesday's semifinal, where it will host fifth seed Paramus at 6 p.m. Paramus earned a 43-27 win over fourth seed Pascack Valley in its first round match.
