MORRISTOWN, NJ - Visions and Pathways, a nonprofit agency that helps families and youth in-crisis throughout New Jersey  received a $10,000 grant from the Financial Resources Federal Credit Union (FRFCU). The funds will support the agency’s Outreach and Prevention program with offices in Morristown.

Approximately 800 youth in New Jersey “age-out” of foster care and are expected to be independent when they turn 18 years old, stated David Walker, Executive Director of Visions and Pathways.

“We are very grateful for the generous donation from FRFCU and a portion will support our efforts to assist homeless college students,” Walker continued. “Some college students who have aged out of foster care and other youth who do not have stable support from their families do not have a place to live during the summer or other breaks from school. As part of our efforts to prevent homelessness, we help them find shortterm housing and jobs. Thanks to the financial support of companies like the Financial Resources Federal Credit Union, we can help hard working youth get the support they need to become successful adults.”

President and CEO of Financial Resources Federal Credit Union, and chairman of their Foundation’s board Lena Matthews notes, "On behalf of the Financial Resources Federal Credit Union Foundation along with our wonderful sponsors, we are thrilled at the opportunity to make a contribution towards the mission of Visions and Pathways through our 2017 Charity Event fundraising efforts.”
