“Bark for Life,” a canine event to help fight cancer, returns to the Florham Park gazebo lawn at 111 Ridgedale Avenue on May 6th, 2017 from noon to 3pm.  Registration begins at 11 am.

The American Cancer Society fundraiser will again by hosted by co-founders and Hanover Park High School seniors Brendan Sardo, Jason Sardo, and Derek Saul, as well as 105.5 FM WDHA radio personality, Terri Carr.  The event originated as a tribute in memory of a family friend and has since recognized Dave Minsavage, the local high school’s math teacher and baseball coach, who passed away from cancer in 2015.

The day is open to dogs and their owners, and features music, contests for the dogs, craft and shopping vendors, food, and other fun activities.

The objective is to build on the $36,000 raised to help fight cancer from the past three events, and provide a unique day out for dogs (“canine caregivers”) and the community.  2016 was deemed the largest Bark for Life in New Jersey, with over 60 dogs and 250 people from the community joining in the celebration.

This year’s event is also a lead in to the inaugural Relay for Life of Florham Park to be held May 20th, 2017, at Hanover Park High School.
