Hi there! My name is Pearl Gio and I am a three year old, 41 pound female bulldog mix from North Carolina.
One day, I found myself homeless and in a cage next to several other dogs. I was told by my new canine friends there that they saw my name on a special list of dogs. At first, I got excited thinking someone was coming to the shelter to take me home with them. But, I was kind of confused when they told me it was a list of dogs that enter one certain room and do not come out again.
Luckily, the angels at Eleventh Hour Rescue stepped in to save me and bring me up to New Jersey to find my forever home.
I had a rough go of it to start with, though! I was spayed, but following my surgery, I began bleeding internally and needed to have a kidney removed to stop the bleeding. I have recovered, and I am now looking to find my forever home. Right now, I am staying with a nice woman and her 9-year-old female Husky/German Shepherd mix dog. I get along really well with my and like having dog friends. I walk nicely on a leash but sometimes can get a little excited and want to run and play. When my foster mom goes out, I am crate-trained and enjoy staying in my crate until she comes home. I also know the commands wait, okay, off and sit (which I will easily do if you have a treat in your hand). I get along with children, adults, and although I tolerate cats, I would prefer a home without them. I am quite intelligent but sometimes I do try to test my foster mom to see what I can and cannot get away with; but that's what being in a foster home is about, learning what will be expected of me as an adopted pup.
If you are interested in giving me a home please go to www.ehrdogs.org and fill out an adoption application.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. I will patiently be waiting for the time we can meet face to face.
