MORRIS PLAINS, NJ -  The Chipotle location in Morris Plains, 1711 Route 10, as well as all Chipotle locations in New Jersey were affected by the payment card security breach reported on May 27 by the Denver-based company.

An investigation by Chipotle found that hackers used malware to access payment card data from cards used on point-of-sale (POS) devices at most of its 2,250 restaurants between March 24 and April 18.

The malware searched for “track data,” which can include a cardholder’s name, card number, expiration date and internal verification code, read from the magnetic stripe of a payment card as it was being routed through the POS device. There is no indication that other customer information was affected.
