MENDHAM, NJ – The Morristown baseball team is off the schneid.

The Colonials, losers of their last two games prior to Wednesday, rode ace pitcher Brennan O’Neill to a 7-3 victory over NJAC-United rival Mendham to improve its record to 14-9 on the season.

O’Neill—2-for-4 with two doubles and a pair of RBI at the plate—went the distance in just 90 pitches, and striking out seven Minutemen.

Andrew Gold busted things open for Morristown in the third, belting a two-run triple to give Morristown its first lead at 4-3. O’Neill then doubled home Gold to give Morristown a 5-3 edge it would not relinquish.

Trailing 3-0 early, Morristown got its rally started when Luke Schulte singled in Gold to start the Morristown comeback in the second.

Morristown will host Chatham on Friday at Harter Field. First pitch is slated for 4pm.
